On February 27, a Chinese Spring Festival reception organized by the Sichuan Provincial Government’s Information Office and Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office in Chengdu, brought together foreign consular officers in Chengdu, Chongqing and Kunming.
The event, in the form of picture show and interactive exchange, gave the diplomats from Australia, France, Germany, Israel and South Korea, etc, a better understanding of the Chinese Spring Festival with typical Sichuan features.
Mr. Christopher Meng How Lim, Consul General of the Consulate General of Australia in Chengdu, said that he is committed to promoting the establishment of sister-city relationship between Sichuan and Australian cities. He noted that a MoU between Chengdu's Dujiangyan City and a city in Victoria, Australia, will be inked.
Mr. Amir Lati, Consul General of the Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu, expressed that he had applied to prolong his 3-year tenure in Chengdu for one more year, because of many important projects cooperated between Israel and Sichuan, as well as his family and his fondness for the city.
